AMS was founded in 1971 by the Ghetti family, already present for decades in the industrial vehicle market under the Iveco brand.
The goal was to produce equipment for forklifts.
Thanks to the experience gained in the sector, AMS subsequently started the production of semi-trailers with aluminum bodies, hydraulic lifting frames, roll-off containers, and tipper bodies for medium and large vehicles.
In 1983, with the new knowledge acquired in the industrial vehicle sector, AMS expanded into the urban sanitation equipment sector, starting, together with some partners, the production of small compactors for the collection and transport of urban waste. Within a few years, AMS developed an internal production line and thus began a long journey towards the creation of its own range of rear-loading compactors.
In 1993, AMS designed and built a new automatic side-loading compactor, still in production today, which led AMS to become one of the most well-known companies in the waste management equipment sector.
In the early 2000s, AMS changed its legal status to a joint-stock company (S.p.A.) and at the same time obtained ISO9001 certification.
To date, AMS has produced and placed on the market thousands of vehicles, including over 2000 side-loading vehicles model CL1, universally recognized as the most reliable on the market.
The various patents filed over the decades testify to AMS’s vocation for innovation and the development of cutting-edge solutions for waste collection.

Respect for the urban context is also fundamental: the physical and noise impact of collection and compaction operations must be reduced to a minimum.
